This seems unfair to me

It seems unfair that a good person should be able to say the phrase "You know, getting robbed at gunpoint is far scarier than getting robbed at knifepoint." But someone I know can say that: AJ.

On Thursday night, after going for a drink with friends, AJ was carjacked outside of our apartment.
Since he's been mugged before, when he saw two sketchy characters walking down the street, he waited for them to go around the corner before parking the car. Unfortunately, there were two other sketchy characters waiting in the shadows and as he crossed the street they came running up to him with a knife and demanded all of his stuff, including the car keys.

Naturally, he threw everything down and ran towards the apartment as they ran the other way to the car. He jumped the railing on the stairs as they drove off with our car and AJ's laptop, wallet, ipod, GPS, and the keys to our apartment.

Thankfully, AJ is okay and we can always get new stuff, but it's hard to replace "safe."

The human race sucks.
