Well...
I am married. So far, it's a lot like when AJ and I were dating, only we have a little bit more money and 2.25 new sets of silverware. And we have these new "Wonder Twin" rings!! Shape of: A very sleepy wife!
The wedding was perfect. The weather, the people, the everything. Although, in true Lindsey fashion, I did trip over my dress as I walked down the aisle. Thank god I didn't walk down the small wooden staircase. Then, I was so excited to get to the Mayor and to my future husband, that I forgot to hug my parents after they "supported me." (No giving away, I'm a 90's kinda girl.) Oh well, my dad forgot to take his sunglasses off during the ceremony. (Being outside does that to a person. Especially when one's first-born daughter is in the midst of getting hitched.)
Photos were hella long. Note to all future marrying types: remain calm. It will all be over shortly and will hopefully be worth it. I'll find out in about a week. (Although, so far, of all the pics I've seen, the one that Shannon took is by far the best. As soon as I get it, I'll post it for your viewing pleasure.)
The drive on the turnpike was fun. We counted the balloons as they popped from the wind. (The car did look lovely, though!) It was nice to get congrats from all of the turnpike officials as we went through. (Alas, we still had to pay the buck.) Many people sped up to honk and laugh at us. It was just what a limelight hog like AJ wanted. (That was a joke.)
I do have one thing to say about the start of the reception: best entrance music EVER. None of that "Get ready to Rumble" bullshit. No, no, no. Not at my wedding. We entered to "The Imperial March (aka Darth Vader's theme)" from Star Wars. I think it went over quite swimingly. I don't think AJ's stepmom liked it, but too damn bad.
The reception was a blur. It looked gorgeous, but what do you expect from two theatre technicians? One of whom is a lighting designer? (Yeah, I have 8 Shakespeares in my garage. 9 if you count my dog.) I know we did "Paradise" and "Time Warp." (Both of which I'm so glad. I think the last time I did Paradise was with Seth.) Everything was fitting. Except of course, the moment of the crashers. No worries, they were only there for a minute. AJ chased them out (my hero) followed swiftly by my bouncers (Greg, Ryan, Jim, and even Julio a little bit--all of which I'm thrilled that you guys were looking out for my guy, but it's all good.) Quick sidenote: AJ and I went to see a movie and there was a preview for "The Wedding Crashers" with Vince Vaughn. Yeah, not so funny. (OH, and we saw the preview for "Rent." I. Love. It.)
The evening ended with a little Mary Tyler Moore move to the door, thank you Geoff!! It is a long way to Tipperary!
Party the next day. Party the day after. Sick as a dog today. So fun. (No honeymoon yet, thank god. I would be a terror. I hate being sick. It's almost like my body said: "You've had a really stressful month with everything. Here's a present! I got you a virus!!)
Okay. I'd write more, but I honestly don't remember what else happened. It was a blur. Hopefully, I'll know more when the picture come back! Thank you to all who were there to make it the best day of my life!! (So far, of course!)
