I can like baseball if I want to!

So, I have a new joy. The D.C. Nationals. Yes, I've only been to one game. No, I haven't followed any sport since I lived with my parents and "hoorayed" for Detroit (Go Red Wings....uh...maybe next year?) Yes, I've spoken poorly about sports stars and the amount of money that they get paid and how it is ri-goddamn-diculous. Yes, Washington D.C. hasn't had a team since before I was born. Yes, my fiance is making fun of me. But that doesn't mean that I can't root, root, root for the home team, does it?? I say no. No, I say. You shall now find me, Lindsey Ruehl, former sports naysayer, as a D.C. Nats fan.

At least I'm not one of those guys who now loves the Red Sox since they just one the World Series (although that was pretty cool.) Speaking of which, Fever Pitch was very good.

Panthera knows what I'm talking about.

What I did/learned today

Did: Took a shower, had a bug fall out of my towel. One of those bugs.
Learned: Must live on at least the second floor.

Did: Went to a Nationals game.
Learned: I could root for this team. As could my super cool coworker. More games will be in the future. Go Nats!

Did: Ran a show.
Learned: A fire alarm at top of show places really shakes things up.

Did: Checked my voicemail.
Learned: AAAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!

Did: Taped then watched ER.
Learned: Not too thrilled with it anymore. I might be one of the last of the faithful and they might be losing me.

Did: Wrote this post on a computer with a broken screen.
Learned: If you can't see all of the post, scroll around a bit. Otherwise you might write "tea," instead of "team."

It's funk-y.

I'm in a funk. Don't much care for it. I think it's the idea of a 10am school matinee tomorrow morning. The show doesn't start with any sort of "house to half" or anything like that. No. Not this show. THIS show starts with a big ass bang of thunder and flashes of lightning. The adults in the audience on Opening Night screamed. What do you think a bunch of high school kids will do? Oh well, school matinees are actually more fun since the kids are more honest with their responses.

Going to see the Nats play on Thursday. Should be fun. Good group of folks watching some baseball, drinking some (highly overpriced) beers. I haven't been to a baseball game since the Tigers were at their old stadium. Before Comerica Park. Back when Cecil Fielder was still playing. (Wait, is he still playing? I don't even know.)

Anyway, we have a new pope. It makes me concerned. He doesn't like things that I think are okay. Female priests. Sex before marriage. Gay and Lesbian anything. Masturbation (well, at least for him.)

On that note, time to watch Roseanne. (Brilliant fucking show, by the way.)

How the hell....

How do I put links on my blog?!?!?!? Jeff!!! Help!!!

Everyone else is doing it, so why don't I?

So many of my peeps are leaving the xanga world!! What's up with that?

Kinda funny that I have two blogs with very similar titles. But the title is very important to me. I have this long-held belief that Darwin was right and will continue to be right for a very long time.

Anyway, I've had this blog for a while, yet I never update it. So I thought, what the hell, why not?

Of course, I really don't have all that much to say.

I have the next two weeks off during the day!!! It's like Christmas all over again! Of course, after the two weeks are up, I have to work double duty at the theatre. Midsummer rehearsals in the morning and Tempest performances in the evening. Except for the weekends, where I have two shows each day.

If only I got paid hourly. Sigh. Nothing with "apprentice" or "intern" in the job description next year. "Assistant" maybe.
